Metro Baseball

Welcome to the Home of Spring-Klein Metro Baseball

Metro baseball is focused on recreational play for players from the age of 5-14. Players register individually or register as a fully formed "Friendship" team by the manager. The league sorts players by age and form rosters by considering the player's school, subdivision, and general area. SKSA rules require a minimum amount of playing time for each player. SKSA conducts Metro baseball Fall and Spring seasons, with the Fall session focusing on player development while the Spring season is a more competitive format.

5U and 6U teams play t-ball with the 7U and 8U progressing to coach pitch play. The goal of these divisions is to teach the basics and fundamentals of baseball preparing them for the older age brackets. Players 9 and above will play kid pitch with each age group progressing to a less restricted set of rules designed to assist with the development of the players.

Metro classification games are played Monday through Thursday (6:00 PM or 8:00 PM) and on throughout the day on Saturday. Schedules may include some double-headers. Rain outs are rescheduled for Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

NO METRO GAMES ON THE FOLLOWING DATES: 9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/5, DUE TO SKSA TOURNAMENTS
Supplied uniform includes shirt and hat (players will provide own pants, socks, and belt)
Registration fees are as follows:
- 5-6U $105
- 7-8U $115
- 9-14U $130
A team sponsorship of $150 is also required for each team as a whole. Sponsorship money is due at uniform pickup.
- Sponsors will receive an appreciation plaque and a listing on a 'Thank You' banner at Rothwood. In addition they will listed on the SKSA website on the Fall Sponsor page (WWW.SKSA.COM)
- Individual sponsor banners will not be provided for the fall.

Fall Baseball Managers: All managers need to submit a managers application. Please have these submitted no later than August 31st.

Friendship Teams: If you are a Friendship Team, you need to read the revised Friendship Rules. These changes are in affect for the 2010 Fall and 2011 Spring Seasons. Friendship rosters are due to the respective coordinator by August 28, 2010. Questions concerning Friendship Rosters should be addressed to the appropriate age group VP.

Rainouts

Make sure to check field status before leaving for the park. --> Field Status

Rainouts will typically be made up the Friday immediately following the rained out game if at all possible.
